RUNCORN FC HALTON have signed midfielder Scott Willis from Conference side Halifax Town.

Willis, 23, has signed for the Linnets until the end of the season having had spells at a host of football league clubs in his short career. He began his career as a trainee at Wigan Athletic before moving to Mansfield Town, Doncaster Rovers, and Carlisle United.

Willis has had further spells at Lincoln and Stockport County before moving to Halifax at the start of the current season.

New Runcorn manager Steve Soley, said: "I know Scott from my days at Carlisle and I was delighted when he said that he would sign for us.

"He is without a doubt a football league player, and I hope he takes this opportunity to show league clubs what they are missing out on so he can secure a move back into the professional game."
