RESURGENT Upton AA made it four West Cheshire League Division One wins from their last five matches on Saturday.
Todd Reid’s men won 3-2 at high-flying Marine Reserves to haul themselves up to 13th.
Simon Andrews put Upton ahead in the 10th minute, following a fine through ball from Owen Kelsey, but the striker then wasted a glorious opportunity to double the advantage.
The fifth-placed hosts made Andrews pay as they roared back to go in front. Their lead did not last long, however, as a dream of a pass from Nathan Mapletoft was finished off by Tom Fellows.
And it was Mapletoft who scored the second-half winner after Andrews had opened up the Marine defence.
Battling Blacon Youth Club came from behind to triumph 2-1 at home to Maghull.
Lee McElmeel brought Aden Shannon’s side level with 20 minutes to play before Sam Henry – who had earlier missed a penalty – hammered home an unstoppable shot late on to win it.
Kieran Smith and Paul Sweeney were on target for Chester Nomads as they too fought back to draw 2-2 at home to Heswall.
A late collapse led to Christleton losing 3-0 at West Kirby.
