HELSBY are enjoying a storming end to the West Cheshire League Division One season.

With goals from Lewis Buckley (2), Andrew Jackson, Liam Page and Matty Johnston, the high-flying Green Machine won 5-0 at home to Blacon Youth Club last Wednesday before winning 3-2 at home to Southport Trinity on Saturday through Andy Edgar, Johnston and Steve Horrocks.

Christleton bounced back from their midweek 2-0 defeat at Ellesmere Port with a 2-0 home triumph over Cammell Laird Reserves given to them by George Rogers and Jamie Rogers strikes and a man-of-the-match display from Sean Johnston.

Led by captain Steve McGowan, under-strength Upton AA returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory at Ellesmere Port in which Nathan Freeman and Richard Smart found the net.

Upton Reserves lost 1-0 at Division Three title-challengers Manor Athletic on Monday as Christleton Reserves fell 4-0 at home to AFC Bebington Athletic Reserves.

Christleton (Dan Davies 2, Phil Sailes 2, Steve Hussin, Salah Arfaoui) had won 6-3 at Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves on Saturday.

Helsby Reserves (Ian Cox 3, Wes Huizer) maintained their promotion push with a 4-1 win at Ellesmere Port Reserves on the same afternoon.

Helsby (Huizer, Gary Lunt, George McGrogan) then won 3-2 at home to Hale Reserves on Tuesday.
