CHESTER Nomads bounced back from their cup heartbreak to win 3-1 at Willaston in West Cheshire League Division One on Saturday.

Ed Moss (2) and Dale Harris struck for John Cadwallader’s side, who had lost last their Cheshire Amateur Cup semi-final 2-0 to league rivals Cammell Laird Reserves last Wednesday.

Ever-improving Christleton claimed a notable scalp on Saturday when they won 2-1 at home to West Kirby with two goals from Ronnie Morgan but Blacon Youth Club were beaten 4-0 at Marine Reserves.

Capenhurst Villa (Alan Locke, Mark Ryan) drew 2-2 at home to West Kirby Reserves before recording an excellent 2-1 home win over AFC Bebington Athletic on Monday given to them by Locke and Mike Urmston.

Helsby (Wes Huizer 2, John Coady 2, Alan Bond) closed the gap on the Division Three leaders with a 5-1 win at Ellesmere Port on the same night.

Upton AA Reserves (Jon Eymond-Jones) won 1-0 at home to Chester Nomads Reserves while Christleton Reserves (Adam Moore 2, Adam Thelwell-Wilson) drew 3-3 at Manor Athletic Reserves.

Helsby (Huizer 3, Craig Evans 2, Tom Smith) had won 6-1 at home to Hale Reserves on Saturday. Nomads (Robert Kennerley 2, Alister Walker) were 3-0 winners at home to Belfry, Christleton (Mark Nokes) lost 3-1 at Neston Nomads (Martin Coan, Jack Rowland, Alex Clare) and Upton (Ryan Brown) went down 2-1 at South Liverpool.
