TORRENTIAL rain ruined the weekend's programme of amateur football in South Cheshire.

In the Crewe FA Sunday Vase only three of the eight games took place. AC Wickstead (Betteley 3, Tomlinson) made short work of Three Lamps in a 4-1 win.

AFC Barkode (Danny Loft-house, Mike Walton, OG) edged The Potting Shed 3-2, while Brunel Arms were comfortable 6-3 winners over Salvador.

In the Crewe Regional Sunday League Premier Division, Wrenbury (Ryan Kennedy 2, Griffiths, Seville, Bossons) eased their relegation worries with a 5-3 success over Flying Lady (Yoxall, Nurton, Richardson).

In the Crewe and District League Premier Division, Curshaws (Tim Lamb 2, Andy Jackson) leapfrogged Crewe Reserves (Tim Berrisford) after a 3-1 win.

Winnington Avenue (Mike Begbie, Tom Ashworth) earned a 2-1 victory over Malpas (Ryan Stevenson).

In Division One, Cuddington (Jonathon Stone 2, Chris Glaze 2, Ben Lawless) gave Sandbach Town (Chris Scarle) a 5-1 drubbing.

Youth football

NANTWICH Town U11s notched their 10th successive win thanks to doubles from Gavin McKeith and Owen Peters, on Sunday.

The pair earned a 4-0 win over Leek CSOB to extend their lead at the top of the age group in the Cheadle and District League.

The U14s (Josh Glover, Sam Wakefield, Tom Wakefield) made it through to round three of the Challenge Trophy with a 3-1 success over Biddulph Town.

Goals from Kevin Mather (4), Tom Iveson (2), Leon Butters, Tom Royle and Jordan Wain helped the U12s to a 9-0 drubbing of Cheadle Town Juniors.

In the Alexandra Soccer Centre League, the U9s (Joe Piggott, Ben Gallagher) won promotion thanks to a 2-1 win over Alsager Celtic.
