Vauxhall Motors boss Carl Macauley is hoping that momentum will see his players come away with a result against high-flying AFC Telford United this weekend.
Macauley’s men were denied the chance to build on their impressive 4-0 triumph at home to Histon earlier in the month after their Skrill North trip to Warwickshire to face Leamington on Saturday was postponed.
While disappointed to see his side denied a game at the weekend, Macauley has now turned his attention to this Saturday’s game with the promotion chasing Bucks at Rivacre Park, a game which he believes his side have a chance of taking something from.
“We were gutted that we couldn’t play on Saturday as the lads were buzzing and wanted to build on the win over Histon, where they were excellent,” said Macauley.
“We know that the Telford game is going to be tough. They’re a strong side with some excellent players and they’re going well this season.
“It’ll be a challenge but the lads did well last time out and are looking forward to it. If we’re on our game then we can be a match for them and hopefully take something from the game.”
Macauley reserved praise for new boy Shaun Tuck after he bagged a brace in the victory over Histon.
“We know what Shaun is about. He’s a goal scorer and a talented footballer,” said Macauley.
“He’s not yet fully fit but when he is he will be a huge asset for the football club.”
