AN EXILED Chester City fan is drumming up support for the club's noisiest fans.
Photographer Tony Arnold, who was brought up in the city but now lives in Teddington, is raising money for the drummers who make themselves heard at the Saunders Honda Stadium and many other grounds in League Two.
Said Tony: 'The drummers have made City games more entertaining and add to the atmosphere and experience. At away games we can sound like the home fans.
'Last week I decided to start a fund to raise money for new drums because the original ones are wearing out and set up a website to create awareness. The response was immediate and I obtained the support of ex-City favourite Cyrille Regis, who was ready to be the first to contribute.
'After only four days I raised £140. City fans also gave generously at the Wycombe match on Saturday and others have contributed via the website.'
