TARVIN Athletic and Sutton Way Villa will face each other in the League Cup final after both made it through their semi final clashes.

Tarvin Athletic sailed through their home tie against Kelsall. Matt Edwards, John Winter and Gary Hanley from the spot all but won the game in the first half. Kelsall pulled one back but the game finished 3-1.

Sutton Way Villa had to rely on a brilliant Lee Salisbury winner at Highfield Athletic after the home team’s Ross Broadbent and Villa’s Steve Armitage had tied the scores.

Chester Nomads 2nds were knocked out of the Tom Gerraghty Memorial trophy in their quarter final at Newton reserves on the Wirral. A Keiron Smith goal was not enough in the face of goals from Newton’s Adam Hogan and Steve Rothwell.

On Monday, two second half goals from Adam Crimes and Ian Smith salvaged a point for Tarvin against City Bar in the Queensferry Sports Premier Division.

Highfield held on to win 3-2 at crossway. Adam Langton (2) and Chris Larson grabbed the goals for the visitors. Mark Montgomery and Phil Goss struck for Crossway.

Hoole Rangers won a goal fest with Sutton Way Villa 4-3. Hoole’s Mark Roberts scored a hat-trick and Billy Roberts netted one. James Watson and Lee Salisbury scored for Villa.

Helsby lost to FC Woodlands in Olympic Trophies Division One through a single John Duncan goal.
