Last season's finalists Horseshoe proved far too strong for Crewe Athletic in a 7-3 success, while Bentley Motors and Boot & Shoe Villa hit their respective opponents, Faddiley and The Vine, for five with without reply.

Nantwich Wanderers and Military Arms both had 3-1 away wins against SLB Villa and Blazer respectively. AC Wickstead moved through thanks to a 4-1 win over The Potting Shed.

Audlem DK surprised Flying Lady with a 4-4 draw after extra time and a 4-1 victory on penalties. Crewe Corinthians beat Haslington Villa 4-2. In the Crewe FA Saturday Junior Shield, Sandbach United won 3-1 at Bunbury.

In the Crewe Regional Sunday League, Nantwich Young Farmers and Willaston White Star fought out a goalless draw.

In the Crewe and District League's Premier Division, Bentley (Tony Corbett, Jamie Jarvis, Steve Wilson) enjoyed a 3-1 success over Crewe Reserves (Adam Socha).

In the Soccersixes league at the Cumberland Arena, Madrid hammered Manfredonia 12-3 with goals from Nigel Huxley, Martin Jones (2), Mike Ritchings (3) and Craig Thompson (5).

Creweventus beat Red Army 6-0 with Vitaly Kalpot, Robert Douglas, Liam Kerrin (2) and Daniel Holmes (2) on the mark.
