WILLASTON White Star were in seventh heaven after booking their place in the third round of the Crewe Regional Sunday League's WC Barker Memorial Trophy.

They saw off The Vine 7-0 with McQuade hitting a hat-trick, Murrell bagging a brace and Fleet and Gwilliam completing the rout.

Betley ran out comfortable 3-1 winners against Wickstead with strikes from White, Muncey and Ashworth. Simon Gidman netted Wickstead's reply.

Goals from Bryan Adams and Brendan Stockton enabled AC Wickstead to edge past Peacock/Willaston Villa 2-1, with Martin Heath on target for Villa.

Hop Pole sprang a surprise by pipping The Elephant 3-2 with strikes from Lath-am, Watts and a Bushall own goal putting Pole into round three.

Another shock saw Frog and Ferret slip up 3-1 against Nantwich Town.

The wintry weather led to the postponement of the three other ties.

In the Premier Division, Faddiley moved into second spot with a 5-2 win over Wrenbury. Harding hit two goals and Massey, Chesters and Brown one apiece for Faddiley, while Griffiths and Parker plundered Wrenbury's replies.

Ancient Briton were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline against Nantwich Young Farmers. Goodwin, Deane, Lomas and Beesley were on target for Farmers with Caldwell grabbing Briton's consolation.

In Division One, Clay Lane remain un-beaten and moved into second place after a 3-2 win over Crewe Corinthians. Goals from Withnall, Sutton and Wayne Barlow gave them their latest success, while efforts from Jeremy Tagg and Ricky Barlow took Corinthians close.

Paul Bushill found his shooting boots and scored four times for Fox Elworth in their 6-2 win over Railway Hotel. Steve Bush and Anthony Evans were also on target for Fox, while Andy Truan bagged a brace for Railway.

In the Cheshire and Border Counties League, PSV Alsager moved to within a point of Division One leaders Cricket Club with a 6-3 win at Black Bear. Rowe netted a treble, Simpson a double and Bell a single for PSV.

A Hart brace and a Burns strike helped Rode Heath to a 3-2 win over Military Arms, while Alsager Old Corinthians saw off neighbours Alsager Plough 3-1, with Moores, Banford and Coddington netting for Corinthians and Baddiley replying for Plough.

Coppenhall maintained pole position in Division Two with a 2-0 victory over The Bank. Goals from Hammley and Grant gave Coppenhall the points.

Broughton United continued their climb up the table with a 4-2 defeat of Dynamo K. Handels scored a brace with Rowley and Birch adding one each, while Shaw and Kelly grabbed Dynamo's replies.
