EVERTON in the Community has been overwhelmed by the backing it has received from fans of both sides of the city for its silver jubilee.

The Blues’ official charity is celebrating its 25th anniversary and has been flooded with support and financial contributions from both Everton and Liverpool fans.

To mark the anniversary, the charity has embarked on a fundraising campaign to raise £1million and has currently collected £315,048, which includes generous donations from Reds fans.

Percy Kemp left this comment after donating a significant amount via the charity’s Just Giving page: “I’m an LFC supporter yet an admirer of Everton’s sober approach to the game as big money prevails. May it rub off on LFC. And long live Everpool!”

Everton fans have also been extremely generous with their cash and kind words, including Susan Davies who said: “Delighted to support such a worthy cause. As a true Blue I’m so proud of all your good work.” The charity is asking 40,000 fans, the capacity of Goodison Park, to each raise £25 to reach its target. And they have devised 25 easy ways to do it, which range from taking part in a sponsored challenge, attending one of the charity’s events or simply making a donation on www.justgiving.com/evertonfc
