IT is the last step on the road to the Exacta Stadium on Saturday as four teams battle it out in the Chester & District FA Senior Cup semi-finals.

Chester Nomads welcome Railway Athletic to Boughton Hall while Waggon & Horses face Highfield Athletic at Cairns Crescent (both 2.30pm) in what will be a dress rehearsal for their Challenge Cup final, which will also be held at the home of Chester FC.

Hot favourites Nomads will be fresh for the last-four clash after their West Cheshire League Division Two match at home to Bronze Social on Saturday was postponed just 45 minutes before kick-off after the visitors could only muster eight men.

Capenhurst Villa lost 2-0 at home to Richmond Raith Rovers.

Steve Finlay made a dream debut for Christleton in their impressive 2-2 draw at home to title-challenging West Kirby in Division One.

The striker scored twice in his first game since re-signing for the club from neighbours Upton AA.

Helsby Reserves (Tony Lunt, Dave Richards, Wes Huizer, Adrian Callaghan) won 4-0 at New Brighton Reserves in Division Three.

Upton Reserves (Andy Lloyd) drew 1-1 at home to Marshall Reserves as Capenhurst Reserves were beaten 1-0 at Mersey Royal.

Christleton Reserves (Shaun Weaver 2, Danny Page, Salah Arfarui) recorded a 4-2 victory at Ashville Reserves before going down 3-0 at home to Manor Athletic on Monday.
