Signing off
We’re signing off for night now. Steve Burr has just given his post-match thoughts and he’s delighted with the result and performance. Full reaction, video and an interview with Conor Dyson will be on The Chronicle’s website tomorrow.
Full-time verdict
There’s no question this was a deserved three points and the performance was, on the whole, one to be well pleased with.
In fact the victory could even have been more comfortable and sealed earlier had the Blues been more ruthless in front of goal.
That might be a concern to Steve Burr because he will know better sides won’t allows so many opportunities, but he’ll be satisfied with this result.
Ross Hannah poses a much bigger threat with good support around him and the midfield looks much more accomplished with Luke George back in the fold.
This gives Chester a platform to build on going into a run of games that provides a chance to climb the table.
FT Chester FC 3 Kidderminster Harriers 1
Ross Hannah’s brace and John Rooney’s goal on his 100th appearance seal a deserved comeback win after Kelvin Langmead had given Kidderminster the lead.
Stoppage time
There’ll be four minutes of time added-on. Chester look to have this one in the bag.
Rooney comes off
And the Blues make their last change with Craig Hobson coming on for John Rooney.
Final change
Kidderminster’s last roll of the dice as Ghanaian teenager George Obusu replaces Jordan Jones on 86 minutes.
Chester FC 3 Kidderminster Harriers 1
Ross Hannah gets his second! The striker is on hand to tap home after Dean Skedker saves from John Rooney. That should be game over.
Debut entrance
Calum Dyson, who joined on loan from Everton this week, comes on for his Chester debut on 74 minutes. James Roberts leaves the field.
Double change
First change for Chester as Jordan Chapell replaces Craig Mahon on 71 minutes.
And a change for Kidderminster as James McQuilkin comes on for Matthew Young.
First change
The Harriers make a substitution as Gurjit Singh replaces Jordan Murphy on 67 minutes.
Almost a third
A delightful interchange of short passes involving Mahon, Hannah and Hunt slices through the defence but Harriers clear at the crucial moment with Hunt poised to strike. That would have been a delightful goal.
Chester's first goal
Here’s the moment Ross Hannah equalised for the Blues (Credit: Terry Marland).
Let off for the Blues
Big chance for Kidderminster to equalise as Zaine Francis-Angol breaks through but Jon Worsnop blocks his shot and then smothers the ball.
Chester FC 2 Kidderminster Harriers 1
What a start to the second-half! John Rooney marks his 100th appearance for the club with a goal, sliding home a well-placed shot from the edge of the area.
Half-time view
Chester were the better side by some distance but failed to convert that pressure into a lead. Ross Hannah missed a sitter and the Blues paid the price when Kidderminster, who have knocked it about well without causing too much of a problem, made the breakthrough on 40 minutes through Kelvin Langmead.
It was an important to respond quickly and Chester did that with Hannah making amends for his miss, finishing off an inviting James Roberts cross just three minutes later.
HT Chester FC 1 Kidderminster Harriers 1
That’s the final action of a first-half in which the Blues fell behind against the run of play but hit straight back to go in level.
Blues have goal disallowed
Ross Hannah has the ball in the net for a second time, finishing from close range after Snedker parries a Luke George shot from distance. It looked the right decision.
Chester FC 1 Kidderminster Harriers 1
Instant response from the Blues! James Roberts with a wicked cross that reaches Ross Hannah and he makes up for his earlier miss with a sharp finish.
Chester FC 0 Kidderminster Harriers 1
Totally against the run of play but there was a fear that would happen. Ben Whitfield’s free kick found Matthew Barnes-Homer at the back post and he squared for Kelvin Langmead to slide home.
Important save
Harriers close to taking the lead as Jordan Murphy flicks on a corner at the near post but Jon Worsnop is on his toes and catches the ball.
Quietened down
The game is in a bit of a lull at present. Blues are still having far more possession but not really able to hurt the visitors.
Breakthrough needed
The Blues have dictated the game up to this point and really should be ahead. Ross Hannah missed the clearest chance but the longer the Harriers can keep the ball out of the net, the more dangerous the visitors are.
Another chance
Ross Hannah with a glancing header from 10 yards out but he doesn’t get enough of a connection and it sails wide.
