FORMER Northern Ireland international Jimmy Quinn helped Willaston White Star stay top of the Crewe Regional Sunday Football League Premier Division.

The striker, now in his forties, was on target along with Martin Caldwell in a 2-1 win over Wrenbury (Phillips).

White Lion (Griffiths 2, Leitch 2, Chevannes) are second thanks to a 5-1 victory over Flying Lady (Heath), while Nantwich Wanderers (Ashley Lawton 2, Martin Harrison, Paul Woodvine) continued their promising start with a 4-1 triumph over Nantwich Young Farmers (Chris Dodd).

Boot & Shoe Villa (Ashley, Newton) won 2-1 over Wickstead (Mitchell), while Faddiley (Stoller 2, Benningwood, Ayres, Sproston) soared to a 5-3 success over Crewe Corinthians (Craig Mayman 2, Jez Tagg).

Jon Dawson smashed five as Bentley Motors crushed Betley 9-0. Singles from the Thomasson brothers, Pete and Dave, Leroy Jones and Thomas Edwards completed the rout.

An incredible 55 goals were scored in six games in Division One on Sunday. Fox Elworth blitzed Rose & Crown 17-0, while Railway Hotel hit the Vine 10-1, with the Parker bothers Ben and Adam both notching four.

AC Wickstead (Brendon Stockton 3, Craig Harris 2, Anthony Tomkinson 2, Brian Adams, Adrian Zide) crushed JTS Wistaston 9-1 (Simon Wilson).

Adam Socha grabbed a hat-trick as the Express won 5-1 over AFC Barkode, Beeston Hotel beat Cheshire Rangers 7-1, and Audlem DK (Kelly 2, Gordon and Wilks) thumped Salvador 4-0.

In the Crewe and District League Premier Division, Congleton Athletic (Mick Bromley 2, Simon Buxton 2, Ian Slinger, Mike Shuker) beat visitors Winnington Avenue (Steve Pickett) 6-1.

Sandbach United (Dave Ikini) edged hosts Bentley 1-0, while Bunbury (Richie Moss 3, Brendan Fian, Johnny Stubbs) won their derby with Malpas (Rob Martin) 5-1. Curshaws (Andy Jackson, Tim Lamb) enjoyed their first victory, 2-0 over Crewe Reserves.

Kidsgrove Carpets (Eddie Forester, Martin Smith, Jamie Evans) are the early leaders in Division One after beating Lostock Reserves (Paul Whitefoot) 3-1.

Sandbach (Matthew Birch, Barry Stalgis) edged hosts Wheatsheaf (Jamie Birchall) 2-1, while Winnington Reserves (Steve Wilding 2, Paul Sneyd) pipped Sandbach Town (Anthony Evans, Peter Jones) 3-2.

In the Cheshire and Border Counties League Division One, Horsehoe's (Palin 2, Dykes, Brown) good start continued with a 4-0 win over Scholar Green.

Military Arms (Jackson 3, Thorley, Birchenall) earned a 5-2 win over Mere Inn, while Blazer (Goodwin, Morrey, Aldington) beat SLB Cars 3-2.

In Division Two, new boys Cumberland (Bostock, De la Haye, Lindsey) lost 4-3 to Leisure Club (Walker 3, Garrett).

Haslington Villa (Buckley, Boston) overcame Boot & Shoe 4-0, while Malbank (Dodd 2, Jones) and Oak drew 3-3 (Bulcher, Brace, Branston).

In the Mid-Cheshire Sunday League Division One, Goostrey (Eddie Bloor 2, Nick Leech, own goal) got off to a flyer with a 4-3 success over White Lion.
