THE weather was the only winner as the local league programme was decimated over the weekend due to waterlogged pitches.

No games were possible in the Crewe & District League, but Beeston Hotel edged past The Vine 3-2 in the Crewe FA Sunday Vase.

In the Premier Division of the Crewe Regional Sunday League, Flying Lady picked up a valuable point against Willaston White Star in a 3-3 draw. Julian Fleet bagged a double for Star with Dave Maynard, uncle of Crewe Alex hitman Nicky Maynard, getting the other Star strike. For Flying Lady, Martin Richardson grabbed a brace with Darren Vickers also on target.

Meanwhile, Nantwich Town U16s (Alexander Beedles, Paul Davis, Adam Woodall) kept up their un-beaten record in the Potteries Junior Youth League with a 3-1 win over Stallington FC.

In the Cheadle & District League, the U11s (Ian Donaldson) were knocked out of the League Cup 5-1 by Newcastle Town. The U14s hammered Blythe Bridge Spartans 11-1, with Tom Wakefield (4), Sam Wakefield (4), James Bowcock (2) and Jordan Lane on fire.

The U13s made it seven wins in seven when they crushed Ashcombe Park Aztecs 9-1, thanks to Russell Hadifh (3), Shaun Robinson (2), Danny Stone (2), Elliot Stevenson and Connor Allcock. Kevin Mather got all the goals as the U12s beat Florence Youth 4-1.

Cheshire Rangers U15s overcame Eccleshall Town Diamonds 3-0 with goals from Max Munns, Danny Croft and Josh Wilkinson.

Sandbach United U8 Eagles beat Frodsham 7-0 and 2-0 in their double-header, with Charlie Rodick (3), Mattie Ward (3), Jordan Ravenscroft, Ross Clayton and Chris Horsfield on target.

The U9 Tigers (Edward Parish) lost 3-1 to Winnington, while the U10 Eagles (Tim Morris, Cameron Turner, Tom Davies, Lewis Gaffney 2, Connor McLaughlin) won 6-0 at Barton. The U10 Falcons (Jack Townesend 2, Charlie Livesey) drew 2-2 and lost 3-1 in the clash with Frodsham.
