CONTROVERSIAL referee Rob Styles will take charge of tomorrow’s derby at the New Meadow.

The Hampshire official has been dropped from the Premiership to League Two this weekend after failing to award two penalties in favour of Manchester United at Blackburn last Saturday.

It will be the first time Styles has refereed outside the top flight this season.

The 44-year-old stunned Manchester City fans by handing Birmingham a dubious spot-kick last month, while he was forced into making an apology to Liverpool in August after wrongly awarding Chelsea a penalty at Anfield.

He once sent off two Chester players, Ronnie Sinclair and Gary Shelton, in a 3-1 defeat at Torquay in October 1997 – his second season on the Football League list.
