BEECHWOOD finally kicked their draw habit to hand out a long-overdue thrashing in the Warrington & District League.

The visitors swept into an early lead through Paul Gleave, soon doubled by Kev Morris's debut goal.

Shortly before the interval, Ian Walsh scored a magnificent third from 25 yards.

The second half saw more Beechwood possession and Alex Pill getting on the mark with a contender for goal of the season.

Burtonwood's keeper got a hand to the 35-yard piledriver but couldn't stop it finding the top corner.

The hosts rallied and Beechwood's keeper had to be at his best.

He was beaten only by an own goal before Chris Strong made it five for Beechwood late on with a thumping header from a corner.

Veteran Jimmy Davies came on as a late sub and could have made it six.

But he missed from close range with his first touch of the game, when it seemed easier to score.
