Dave Powell's thoughts

Been a stern test for Chester during that opening half. The Dabbers have looked threatening going forward and deserved their goal through Jones. But Chester have come back well and played some decent stuff, with Elliott Durrell looking particularly impressive. James Akintunde has looked threatening alongside James Alabi but will be kicking himself at not getting on the scoresheet after missing two good chances to hand the Blues the lead. Plenty of food for thought in the first 45 minutes and the Blues will need to ensure they match the tempo of the home side who have looked to take the game to Chester.

Half time

An entertaining first half with both teams playing the game the right way.

Cooke wide

  • Share

Great save!

Good possession play from Nantwich finds Andy White who hits a low 25-yarder but Roberts gets down well and tips wide.

  • Share

Saved

Hunt’s cross after good work from Durrell finds the head of Akintunde whose strong header is gathered by Parton.

  • Share

Durrell impressing

The winger has been excellent so far and has been central to everything positive that the Blues have done going forward. Exciting prospect.

Akintunde should have scored

Striker breaks through on goal but Parton in the Nantwich goal wins the duel. Should be 2-1 Chester.
