AN injury-time equaliser denied Chester three points at Christie Park - but a draw was probably a fair result in a hard-fought clash of Conference promotion rivals.

City seemed to have done enough to avenge their FA Cup second round exit in December after substitute Michael Twiss had broken the deadlock on 66 minutes, spinning on a pass from Daryl Clare before shooting home.

But at the start of four minutes of added time Adriano Rigoglioso had a stroke of luck when his shot hit the post off a diving Wayne Brown to trickle over the line with Wayne Curtis on hand to make sure.

In a game of few clear-cut chances Morecambe went closest in the first half when Gary Thompson's header was cleared off the line by Scott Guyett and just after the break Robbie Talbot lobbed over the bar following a punt through the middle by Dave McKearney.

Honours were fairly even after that as Danny Collins had to clear his line from Jamie Murphy who foiled Ben Davies at the other end with a last-ditch clearance.
