AIRBUS UK manager Craig Harrison wants to strengthen his squad’s defence and attack – but he is more than happy with his midfield options.

Central midfielders Danny Desormeaux and Ashley Williams were the stand-out performers in Saturday’s superb 2-0 victory at in-form Newi Cefn Druids. With Williams sweeping up in front of rock-solid centre-backs Matty Woodward and Mark Allen, Desormeaux was allowed to maraud forward and join an attack spearheaded by Tom Rowlands.

Druids simply could not live with the midfield duo and Harrison was only too happy to sing their praises.

“Ashley and Danny were fantastic – what a combination,” he said. “I’ve said it to your paper before that there’s not many better in the league.

“People may think, ‘oh, they’re only playing for Airbus’, but believe me I’ve seen every midfield player in this league now and I don’t think there’s many better combinations – and I’m including Rhyl, TNS and Llanelli in that.”

Giovanni Feliciello, with his first goal for the club, and Phil Molyneux shared the strikes at Druids.

The Wingmakers, whose return clash with Druids was played as The Chronicle went to press yesterday, are at home to Newtown tomorrow (2.30pm).

Harrison wants to bring centre-back Gareth Sudlow back from Caersws while he has also enquired about strikers Aden Shannon from Connah’s Quay and Cammell Laird’s Alex Hay. Centre-back John Davies, has left for Flint and midfielder Gareth Caughter for Holyhead Hotspur.
