Chester FC take on an AFC Telford United team out to impress new boss Steve Kittrick in tonight's FA Trophy first round replay (7.45pm).

Kittrick was confirmed as the Bucks new manager on Monday morning, replacing Liam Watson who was sacked following the 1-1 draw with the Blues on December 13 .

Andy Todd and Andy Pryce have been in charge since Watson left and will probably oversee tonight's game after former Guiseley boss Kittrick named them as assistant manager and goalkeeping coach.

Todd and Pryce made four changes for Saturday's home game with Eastleigh, which ended in a 4-3 defeat for the Shropshire club.

Ex-Chester forward Tony Gray was among those recalled and he repaid the decision with a hat-trick but the loss leaves the Bucks 13 points adrift from safety.

Telford had only four substitutes for that game with Rod McDonald, Steve Akrigg and Kristian Platt on the treatment table and Lincoln City recalling Karl Ledsham.

Influential midfielder Godfrey Poku came off injured on the hour mark but Andy Owens, back in the fold after falling out with Watson, returned to the side.

Pryce suggested afterwards the Bucks, who are bottom of the table, would look to rotate the squad for tonight's game with two six-pointers on the horizon.

"We have to put a team out on Monday in the cup - but are looking seriously at our league games over Christmas with two massive games against Nuneaton coming up," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Chester boss Steve Burr could be having similar thoughts as he looks to navigate through the packed festive fixture list.

His small squad has been showing some understandable signs of tiredness in the past couple of games but the manager has ambitions to progress in the FA Trophy.

Kane Richards, whose debut at Barnet provided plenty of promise, will not be involved even though he has not featured in the competition this season.

Richards, who signed last week from Ilkeston, cannot play as he was not registered with the Blues at the time of the initial game.

Gareth Roberts' involvement rests on the club deciding whether or not to appeal his red card in the 3-0 loss at Barnet on Saturday . An appeal would almost certainly not be processed in time but could delay his automatic three game suspension.

Ibou Touray would be the obvious replacement for Roberts and Peter Winn could come in for Richards on the left wing.

Burr might decide to bring in some fresh legs with youngsters Ben Greenop and Tom Peers, and fringe players like Danny Harrison, Jamie Menagh and Wayne Riley.

"We've picked up one or two knocks but we'll have a look at it and see how we are for Monday," said the manager after the Barnet game.

"It's going to be a busy period with the game on Monday and then we've got Boxing Day so we've got a lot of games coming up thick and fast."

Tonight's winners will collect £5,000 in prize money and travel to Conference North promotion hopefuls AFC Fylde on Saturday, January 10 in the second round .
