A NEVER-SAY-DIE attitude helped Alsager Town U18s stay in contention to become the Staffs County Minor Youth League champions after they came from two goals behind to snatch a point against Leek Town.

James Sheldon gave the visitors the lead on seven minutes. A top finish from Jake McGarry on the half hour doubled the score.

Kieran Dawson quickly fired Alsager back into contention after the restart. Time looked to be running out but top-scorer Garry Gordon slammed home a dramatic equaliser. nFree-scoring Nantwich Town U14s smashed the perfect 10 past South Moor-lands in the Cheadle and District League on Sunday.

Nathan Southern helped himself to five, while Matt Freeman grabbed a hat-trick and Kelvin Mellor and Elliot Ledwards got one each, Moorlands managed one consolation.

The U11s won 3-0 against Stone Dominoes with goals from Nathan's brother James (2) and Thomas Russell, while the U12s beat Leek Town Rangers 7-1. Adam Clayton grabbed four goals and the other scorers were Greg Moore, Lee Mellor and Tom Hulme

Nantwich U13s were too good for Newcastle Town. A 10-1 scoreline was earned due to goal-getting from Adam Vickers (4), Nathan Cotterell (3), Josh Wilkinson (2) and Max Munns. The U15s beat Clayton Rangers 5-0 thanks to Klodion Kastrati (2), Zak Moores, Gareth Oakley and Ben Durkin.

In the South Cheshire Youth League, Nantwich's U12s B went down 3-0 to Crewe Terriers.

A Jack Hughes hat-trick earned the U8 Diablos a 3-3 draw with MG Juniors in the Crewe Alex Soccer Centre League, while a strike from Nathan Hobson notched a point for the U8 Dabbers in a 1-1 draw with Betley Robins.

The U9 Diablos were 4-2 winners against Alsager thanks to goals from Gavin McKeith (2), Will Morgan-Wynn and Lewis Morley, but the U9 Dynamo's went down 5-2 to Haslington Blue. Scorers were Aidan Noble and Jamie Oakes.

Nantwich's U10 Diablos won 3-1 against Alsager Town Black. A brace from Jordan Rigby and a Scott Lowe strike sealed the win, while the U10 Dynamo's won 4-2 against Tarporley FDC, thanks to goals from Scott Burdekin (2), Eddie Yoxall and Niven Bailey

Jake Bedford's goal was a mere consolation in the U10 Dabbers 2-1 defeat to Wistaston United, but the U17/18s have reached the Minor Counties League Cup semi-final after a 5-1 win over Kidsgrove Athletic. nBoys and girls, aged five-11, can attend Nantwich's community sessions every Saturday from 9.30-11am at Malbank School and Wrenbury School.
