LIVERPOOL youngster Brad Smith is hungry for more after making a big impression on England duty at the Under-17 European Championships in Serbia.

The Australian-born left-back played a major role in helping John Peacock’s side qualify from their group in second palce to set up today’s semi-final with Holland.

Smith scored the opening goal in Monday’s crucial 3-0 win over the hosts which also ensured England will be involved in next month’s FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Mexico.

The 17-year-old Reds defender was only called up for the first time in March when he was picked for the qualifying round in Belgium but has quickly established himself as an integral part of the squad.

“It’s been a really good experience for me, first out in Belgium and now in the finals,” he said.

“And to get the chance to go to the World Cup is even better.

“That is going to be a tremendous experience for us.

“We’re all looking forward to it and obviously playing for our places now.

“I’ve been watching a couple of the Holland games when they’ve been on here, and they look like a decent team.

“We’ll watch a few DVDs and make sure that we’re prepared and ready for the game.”

Smith admits he enjoyed a slice of luck against Serbia when he scored from an acute angle after a rampaging run down the left.

“It was a cross, but it looked like a shot so I was delighted,” he added.

“It’s always good to score for England and being a full-back, that’s my first, so I was delighted.

“It was a great result for us. We didn’t start well in the tournament, but we managed to push through and we’ve made the semi-final.

“Our first aim was just to win the game on Monday and get to the World Cup, which was what we wanted to do.

“So when the result came in from the other match, that was a bonus for us and now we can’t wait to play Holland.”

Smith is set to line up alongside Liverpool team-mate Adam Morgan today, while fellow Reds Matty Regan and Raheem Sterling have returned to Anfield after being forced to drop out of the squad due to injury.

“It’s always good to have people from your club along, to help you settle and everything,” the Liverpool youngster added.

“It’s been easy to settle into the group and I’ve really enjoyed the whole experience.”
