CITY legend Grenville Millington has become president of Chester City Supporters' Trust.

The 55-year-old, who played more than 300 games in goal for Chester in the 1970s and early 80s, took up the position at the Trust's AGM, which was held at the Bull and Stirrup pub in Chester last Thursday.

Trust spokesperson Kevin Jones said: 'We're very pleased that Grenville has agreed to take on this honorary role for us and we look forward to working with him.'

Millington attended last week's AGM and spoke of his joy at being approached to become president, as well as endorsing the activities, aims and objectives of the Trust.

Pat Hendrie, of Chester City's community scheme, also attended as a guest speaker.

* The Trust has arranged a fundraising race night on Wednesday (June 13) at The Oaklands, Hoole Road.

All proceeds will go to the Trust and its nominated charities.

Organiser Graham Page said: 'There isn't a cost to come along, but if you intend to have a bet then you need to bring along some pennies or perhaps even pounds!

'We hope that this will be a great night for all City supporters to enjoy.'

Anyone wanting to book a curry or chilli supper must contact either Graham on 01244 382430 or Kevin Wilding on 07980 868177. The supper costs £5.
