LACHE Park needed extra time to see off the challenge of Gardeners Arms in the Dale Recycling Solutions Chester Sunday League Cup.

The third-round tie finished 2-2 with Nathan Mapletoft’s brace for hosts Lache cancelled out by Luke Griffiths and Ben Woods, before Leon Whitley stepped in with the winner.

Red Lion dumped Corner Pin out of the competition 4-2. Paul Richards. Jay O’Brien and a Greg Dudley double booked Lion’s place in the fourth round while Lee Evans and Dave Lambert scored for Pin.

Lock Vaults scored in each half to eliminate Dee Rangers 2-0. The goals came from Ollie Robinson and James Darcy.

Chester Chronicle Section B saw Highfield beat home side Upton YC 5-4. Simon Hunka (2), Matty Crank and Mike Gerrard scored Upton’s goals, but Neil Fields (2), Matty Cross, Matty Carling and Danny Owens claimed the points for Highfield.

Custom House also won away, defeating Boughton Hall 2-0.

Dale Recycling Solutions Section C saw Anchor dole out a footballing lesson to Grosvenor Celtic, hammering them 7-2. Josh Kier (2) Ricky Wright (2) Jason Lucas (2) and Daniel Chadwick finished Celtic off, Tim Hubbold and Luke Thomas replied.

Inter Barrow slipped to a 2-1 home loss against Western Rangers. Kieran Tudor gave Inter the lead, but Richard Deponio and Ian Smith swung the result in Rangers’ favour.

Greyhound’s Lee Edwards, Craig Weaver, Kevin Garland and Ross Broadbent gave them a 4-1 win over visiting St Theresa’s.

Tattenhall experienced a 4-2 reverse at home to Ring O’Bells, Dave Pasco (2), Andy Austin and Carl Jenkins on target for the away side.
