GOALKEEPER Jamie Stephens is looking to build on an impressive first season at Liverpool.

The 18-year-old, who joined the Reds from Swindon last year, landed the Premier Academy League save of the season for 2010/11 with an outstanding stop against Manchester United.

Stephens is challenging Tyrell Belford for the reserves’ No 1 jersey.

“Winning last season’s save of the season award was an absolute honour,” he said. “Tyrell has been playing for the reserves so far this season and we have a great friendship off the pitch.

“He’s a great keeper but I have faith in my own ability too.”
