CHESTER manager Mark Wright is set to take players on loan to boost the bid to stay in the Conference promotion race.

He watched his side bounce back from a disappointing Christmas programme to win at Rockingham Road with a 36th minute goal from Daryl Clare after Phil Bolland had headed on a Ben Davies corner.

Wright had striker Ryan Sugden back after suspension, but Bolland and Wayne Hatswell are about to serve bans following Christmas red cards.

Scott Guyett is still out after suffering from double vision and won't be risked in Saturday's FA Trophy clash with UniBond League side Worksop at the Deva Stadium.

Although Wright is keen to bring in players he is also going to have to off-load others and there could be activity in the transfer market before the weekend.

Saturday's game was a scrappy affair of few chances, but although Kettering gave a battling performance City always looked in control.
