STUART PEARCE believes Jordan Henderson will have no problem concentrating on his England duties this summer.

Henderson, together with Blackburn defender Phil Jones, who is set to join Manchester United in a £16m deal, was given special dispensation to join up late with Pearce’s squad.

But Pearce believes the disruption caused to both players’ preparation will be minimal.

He said: “It wasn’t a hindrance because I know what the sort of players I’m dealing with. Those two individuals are fantastically focused and a pleasure to work with.

“I had contact with both of them in respect to asking permission to go and speak to the clubs and tie up individual deals that they got.

“If I put myself in their position I would want a deal tied up before I went to a major championship – and I think that was their mentality as well.

“So they’ve got those deals all signed and sealed. They were with us last night, then back on the training pitch today with no problems at all.

“They are extremely talented players so I’m not surprised that clubs are looking to vie for their services.”
