I PLAYED in 19 Merseyside derbies during my Liverpool career and I’ve got mixed memories of them.
My first derbies were in 1984/5 and we lost both of them 1-0.
Losing was tough to take. No inch was given and there wasn’t much football played.
Some were fantastic games to be involved in like the 3-2 win and the famous 4-4 draw at Goodison.
My favourite derby has to be the 1986 FA Cup final at Wembley.
We were the two best teams around.
They were determined to stop us doing the double and we were desperate to get our hands on that Cup.
Winning that day amid such a great atmosphere is a very special memory.
