IT is cup final week for the Chester and District FA!
Saltney Vets take on Newton Athletic Youth in the final of the Challenge Cup tonight at Christleton and the Aldford Glass Sunday Cup final between Blacon Mail and Shell Swan takes place on Sunday at the same venue.
It is back to Christleton next Thursday (April 27) when old rivals Upton AA and Blacon YC clash in what promises to be an excellent final of the C&C Catering Equipment Senior Cup.
Upton booked their passage in style on Monday, defeating Newton Athletic Youth 7-1 with goals from Danny Andrews (3), Mike Garrod, Dave Roberts, Andy Lloyd and Luke Jackson.
Mark Dutton replied with a penalty. Goals by John Dowridge and Jamie Rogers fired Blacon to a 2-1 win in Friday's semi-final against St Werburgh's.
The evening games kick off at 6.15pm while the Sunday final is at 11am. Admission is £2. nChristleton face holders Cammell Laird reserves in the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup, at Vauxhall Motors' Rivacre Park, a week today.
