ALSAGER boss Greg Clowes will have another opportunity to run the rule over Stone Dominoes hotshot Dave Shaw when the teams meet on Monday.

Clowes wanted to put in seven days' notice of approach for the 31-goal Dominoes marksman but just missed the North West Counties League transfer deadline.

'Dave is the sort of player we need with a knack for being in the right place at the right time and I want to bring in a goalscorer who will be with us for the next couple of years.'

Clowes will get the green light to increase his budget next season as Alsager look to continue the superb progress they have made in recent seasons.

Mark Parry's late equaliser helped end a run of defeats as Town concluded their home programme with a 1-1 draw against Skelmersdale.

Gareth Rowe wasted Alsager's best chance of the first period and a defensive error let in Skem's Drew Hy-land to open the scoring seven minutes before the interval.

Top scorer Andy Kinsey hit the post before Steve Elks, Karl Bayley and Ben Biddulph all went close as Alsager pressed forward for an equaliser.

Hyland blotted his copy book in the 71st minute when he was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Alsager pressed forward in a bid to grab a late equaliser, and it arrived in the 89th minute when substitute Wooliscroft's long ball picked out Parry, and he kept his cool to give Town a share of the spoils.

Alsager visit Atherton LR on Saturday before Monday's derby duel with Stone at the Springbank Stadium (both 3pm). Alsager chairman Peter Clegg, manager Greg Clowes, the players and the committee would like to thank all their supporters and matchday staff for their continued support throughout the season.

Clegg said: 'Although the season's not quite finished, it has been another great season.

'We've improved again in the league and earned the respect of our opponents.'
