Who's playing?

Gateshead v Chester FC – Vanarama National League

When and where?

Saturday, November 28 (3pm), at International Stadium, Gateshead

What has Steve Burr had to say about it?

"It's not the best of atmospheres up there and I think the thing with us going to Gateshead on Saturday is we're going there when there'll be somebody new, whoever it is, in the manager's seat and that will give the players an extra lift for whatever reason," said the Blues manager.

"But we'll go there and we'll try and build on what we've done on Tuesday. They had a heavy defeat at home to Halifax last weekend and that just shows you what this league can do but it's nice to get some fresh faces in and hopefully we can go there and get the three points."

Any team news?

Striker Danny Hattersley is in line to make his Chester FC debut having signed on loan until January from National League rivals FC Halifax Town.

Ryan Lloyd, another new loan signing who arrived from Port Vale in midweek and was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Dover Athletic, could also make his Blues bow.

Ian Sharps is in contention once again having served a one-match ban for picking up five yellow cards, but his route back into the starting XI could be blocked by loan signing Alex Whitmore after the Burnley youngster put in an assured display against Dover in midweek.

Tell me about Gateshead...

The Heed, who sit one place and one point above the Blues in the National League table, have endured a difficult campaign thus far and parted ways with manager Malcolm Crosby after just five months in charge following a 4-1 drubbing at home to rock-bottom FC Halifax Town last weekend and 4-0 humbling at Wrexham seven days previous.

The Tyne and Wear club have failed to recapture the form they enjoyed last season under the now-Wrexham manager Gary Mills and have been dogged by inconsistency this term.

Former Darlington, Rotherham and Port Vale midfielder Micky Cummins and captain Ben Clark were put in temporary charge. On Friday, Gateshead appointed former Halifax manager Neil Aspin as their new boss.

What happened the last time the two sides met?

A superb John Rooney strike proved the difference on November 15 last year as the Blues registered a 1-0 home success over a 10-man Heed side, who had James Curtis dismissed.

Rooney's goal against Gary Mills' high-flying side on 68 minutes, which came on the day his brother Wayne won his 100 England cap, helped lift Chester to 14 in the table.
