VAUXHALL Motors have had to tinker with their pre-season plans.

Carl Macauley had been due to take his players to Bangor City for a friendly on Saturday, July 28 but the fixture has now been cancelled because the North Wales club's Farrar Road stadium, which was damaged by a fire last month, will not be repaired in time.

Motors will now take on Bradford Park Avenue at the Horsfall Stadium instead (3pm).

The Ellesmere Port team may well add a local midweek match to their pre-season programme, which kicks off with a visit from Paul Ince's Macclesfield Town on Monday, July 16. The players report back for training a week on Saturday.

* Vauxhall host their second car boot sale of the summer on Saturday morning. Gates at the club's Rivacre Park home open at 8.30am.
