VAUXHALL Motors are hoping the big freeze thaws in time to allow Saturday’s home match against Corby Town to go ahead (3pm).

The club has arranged a special two-for-one offer for the Blue Square Bet North fixture as part of a drive to attract bigger home crowds. Existing Vauxhall supporters will be allowed to take along a friend for free on Saturday.

Club press officer Phil Jarvis said: “We all seem to know someone who takes an interest in the club from reading the local press but never thinks to come and watch a live game. Now is the time to do it.”

The club says this is a ‘genuine offer’ which must not be misused to allow two regular supporters to gain entry for the cost of just one.

Club officials will be making every effort to ensure the game goes ahead but the week’s wintry weather has covered the Rivacre Park pitch in snow.

The two-for-one offer requires the higher admission charge to be paid if concessions are involved. Admission is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions, £3 for students (ID required) and £1 for U16s.

The Motormen were due to play two away fixtures this week – at Hinckley United on Saturday and Bradford Park Avenue on Monday – but both were postponed due to snow.

The Hinckley United match has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 5 and the Bradford game will be on Monday, February 18 (both 7.45pm).
