TARPORLEY Victoria remain at the foot of Cheshire League Division One following their 14th defeat of the season on Saturday.

They lost 3-1 at home to Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds, who were indebted to a hat-trick from Robert Hanley.

Andrew Clacher pulled the score back to 2-1 with just under 15 minutes remaining, but Hanley completed his treble in the 80th minute to seal the points for St Oswalds.

In Division Two, Malpas earned an excellent 2-2 home draw with leaders Crewe FC.

Three of the goals came inside the first 18 minutes.

The hosts went 1-0 in the 12th minute through George Haller, who was picked out by Danny Lloyd.

Two minutes later, Malpas doubled their lead when a shot from Eddy Barlow found the head of Dominic O’Keffe, who made no mistake from just inside the box.

Crewe then began to show why they are top of the table and they pulled a goal back when Shane Wild finished off a slick move down the right flank.

The table-toppers drew level three minutes before the break through Wild, who capitalised on a defensive mistake. Crewe were then unlucky to see shots hit the bar and post before the half time whistle went.

Malpas’ joint-manager Lea Edge said: “I was happy with a point against a good side whose movement is good to watch.”
