FRODSHAM United kicked Boughton Athletic out of the Chester Senior Cup with a domineering 7-1 victory.

Travelling United sealed passage into the second round with goals from Si Wright (2), Tom Southall (2), Barry Bewes, Ian Cox and Graham Dixon.

Duddon United said their goodbyes to the competition, but not before they had taken Newton Bears to extra-time. A brace from Duddon’s Rob Edge was cancelled out by two from the Bears’ Ian Riddler and in extra-time Kevin Jenson found the net to end Duddon’s participation in this season’s cup.

In the Queensferry Sports Premier Division, Simon Moore fired the goals that earned Chester Nomads 2nds a 3-3 draw at home to Highfield Athletic. His hat-trick cancelled out Ross Broadbent, Scott Chard and Gary Ward’s goals for Athletic, whose keeper almost stole the points when he came up to head a corner late on.

Phil Goss and Dave Megson both got on the scoresheet but it wasn’t enough as Crossway fell to a 3-2 defeat to visitors Kelsall.

Tarvin Athletic surrendered their unbeaten record when they went to Hoole Rangers and received a 3-2 beating.

Despite Stuart Groves and Phil Hill scoring, Rangers won thanks to a double from Ian Jones and a Dave Lupi strike.

In the Olympic Trophies Division One, City Bar quelled resistance from Barrow Athletic to win 4-2. Danny McLoughlan (2), James Davies and Blake Williams bagged the three points for home side City.

Ashton Lions roared to a 5-1 victory at Highfield Athletic Reserves. John Lawrence, Danny Roden, Ian Mayhew, Alex Richards and Graham Bunting all scored for the Lions. Graham Tomlinson got a consolation goal for Athletic.

Helsby managed to keep a clean sheet in their 5-0 demolition of Chester Nomads 3rds. Nick Willis, Daz Saunders, Lee Banner, Rob Laughton and Lee Fletcher did the honours for Helsby.

In DevaWeb Services Division Two, Paul Horan, Mark Pugh and Leigh Hart all scored as Barrow Athletic 2nds earned a point in a 3-3 draw with Vicars Cross Doves. Blacon Youth Vets hosted FC Woodlands and scored twice, through Stan McKay and Craig Rowlands, but the visitors struck four in return to take all the points.

Chester Nomads 6ths’ Andy Parry got one and Alan Jones scored from the spot, but Newton Reserves’ two Daves – Aylward and Allen – each bagged a goal to claim a share of the spoils at 2-2.
