Staff at MBNA in Chester are inviting seven-a-side teams to join a charity football tournament in a bid to help raise more than £2,000 for good causes.

Volunteers from the Chester-based company’s Risk Operations (RO) department have organised the competition to raise money for their two chosen charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and Brain Injury Rehabilitation & Development.

Tournament organiser and MBNA’s RO charity leader Michael Walsh said: “Every year we try different ideas to raise as much money as possible for charity, but this is the first time we’ve put on a football tournament and we’re really looking forward to getting together with teams from outside the company.”

The MBNA Charity Football Tournament takes place between 9am and 5pm on Saturday, July 28 at the Cheshire County Sports Club. Entry is £100 per team.
