CHESTER Catholic High School’s girls team finished the season on a high.

Their under 16s won the Chester Schools FA inter-schools 11-a-side competition, beating Bishop Heber 2-1 in the final at the Cheshire County Sports Club, Upton.

Catholic High captain Rhian Lewis opened the scoring and doubled her side’s lead as half time approached.

The second half was a real battle, with Bishop Heber cutting the deficit to 2-1 thanks to a well-taken goal by Olivia Freeman with five minutes to go. But Catholic High held their nerve, playing out the final minutes by keeping possession.
