CAPENHURST Villa had no troubles in getting through to the next round of the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup after beating Govan Athletic 4-0.

Mark Ryan, Tony Ashton, Mike Urmston and an own goal wrapped up victory for the visitors in round two of the competition.

Joining them in round three will be Chester Nomads, who had George Pulford to thank for scoring the only goal of the game at New Brighton.

Christleton (Steve Finley 2) required penalties to progress after drawing 2-2 at Bronze Social. They then won 4-3 in the shootout.

Willaston (Dayo Akinlabi, Paul Ellison) beat Spurley Hey 2-1 to go through but Upton Athletic Association (Simon Andrews) are out, losing 5-3 on penalties after being 1-1 at full time away to Ellesmere Port.

Newton were also eliminated, losing 3-0 at home to Middlewich Town.

In West Cheshire League Division Three, Chester Nomads Reserves (Peter Fitzpatrick, Ryan Trousdale) drew 2-2 with Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves in their home fixture, while Upton AA Reserves (Mark Thompson) drew 1-1 at home to New Brighton Reserves.

Helsby (Wes Huizer) shared the spoils 1-1 at home to Mersey Royal, but Christleton Reserves lost 2-0 to Merseyside Police. Capenhurst Villa Reserves were defeated at home 1-0 by Hale Reserves, while Neston Nomads were comfortably beaten 4-0 at AFC Bebington Athletic Reserves.
