A CHESTER-born footballer has seen his dream move to Tottenham Hotspur collapse.

But Antonio Pedroza Whitham, who was brought up in Blacon before moving to live in Mexico with his family as a child, could now sign for Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old has spent the week training with the Championship outfit after his transfer to Spurs fell through.

Pedroza Whitham, whose English mother Katrina now lives in Thornton-le-Moors, near Elton,, had claimed that a deal to take him to the Premier League giants had been done.

But the 5ft 7in speedy striker was left disappointed after it was called off at the last minute.

Pedroza Whitham, who is out of contract with Mexican Primera Division club Jaguares, headed to his mum’s house before returning to London to train with Palace.

He played for the Eagles in their 0-0 draw at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday and will be given another chance to impress in their next friendly away to Crawley Town tomorrow.

Pedroza Whitham, who qualifies to play international football for both England and Mexico as he was born in England but has a Mexican father, used to live in Blacon and was a pupil of JH Godwin Primary School until his family left for Mexico.
