League action took a back seat with most clubs on the cup trial and Blacon Thistle trounced Crossway 9-0 in the Chester & District FA Senior Cup.

Dechlan Jarrett got our as Deva Athletic beat Christleton Celtic 7-0 and Hoole Rangers matched that scoreline in dispatching Clubbies.

Uberlube went down 9-0 to Upton AA, Kelsall lost out 6-3 to Malpas after extra time and Blacon Youth Club came through 3-1 over Lodge Bar.

In the Wirral District FA Amateur Cup, Shaftesbury Youth claimed a 2-1 over Ashville, Porky’s Pantry held Willaston to a 2-2 draw before losing out on penalties and Woodchurch went down 3-1 to Neston Nomads.

Wirral District FA Junior Cup holders Birkenhead Town needed extra time to overcome Ellesmere Port 3-2, Kelma beat Neston Nomads Reserves 4-1 and Neston Town eased past Hooton 5-1.

In the Premier Division, Helsby and Lache shared six goals in a 3-3 draw, Ellesmere Port Town drew 2-2 with Whitby Athletic and Woodlands Santos beat Blacon Youth Reserves 4-3.

Division One leaders Boughton Athletic had five different scorers in a 5-1 win over Ashton, Franklyn’s defeated Hoole Rangers Reserves 8-0, Peacock 09 squeezed past Cestrian Alex 4-3 and Orange Athletic beat Chester Nomads 3rds 6-1 to make it four wins for the season.

In Division Two, FC Blacon beat Samba 4-1, Civil Defence drew 2-2 with Newton Athletic, Christleton Youth beat Eastham Athletic 2-1 and Kelsall Reserves edged out Ellesmere Port Town Reserves 7-6 in a thriller.

Carl Smith’s goal couldn’t prevent Tarporley Victoria going down 2-1 to Chester Nomads in the Chester & District FA Senior Cup.

Vics travel to Mary Dendy in the Crewe & District FA Challenge Cup on Saturday (2pm).

Andy Morris’ treble helped Malpas overcome Kelsall 6-3 in the Chester & District FA Senior Cup.

Lee Smith (2) and Matty Dutton got the others. Malpas host Maine Road Reserves on Saturday (3pm).
