CREWE were left kicking their heels for a third successive weekend after the weather hit hopes of a return to action.

A quirk of the fixture list had left Ian O'Reilly's men with two blank Saturdays before the game against Garswood. But they were thwarted again when heavy rain waterlogged the Cumberland Arena pitch and the match was postponed.

Crewe's second string were also frustrated as their President's Cup tie at Golborne Sports was also off.

The senior side hope to return to action in a Division One Cup tie at Daten on Saturday, while the reserves are scheduled to entertain Barnton's second string in a Mid Cheshire League Reserves Division fixture.
