NANTWICH Young Farmers kept a firm grip on second-spot in the Premier Division with a 3-2 win over Wrenbury. Goals from Davenport (2) and Lomas cancelled out a brace from Phillips for Wrenbury.

Evergreen Peter Muncey bagged four for Betley in a 5-2 success over Faddiley. Andy Archer got the other goal, while Dave Hanson got both for Faddiley.

Home teams Ancient Briton and White Lion were defeated 5-3 by Wickstead and Willaston White Star respectively. Caldwell (2) and Cornock scored for Briton with Hassall, Adams (2) and Gidman (2) on target for Wickstead.

While Martin, Stalgis and Canvin scored for White Lion, a hat-trick from Barry Murrell and singles from Lee Heath and Chris Bach gave Star the points.

In Division One, leaders Crewe Corinthians dealt a blow to AC Wickstead with a 4-2 victory. Craig Mayman hit two free-kicks, the first needing a deflection and the second a glorious strike into the top left corner.

Wayne Beggs and Jez Tagg added to their tally and, although Joe Jardine and Bryan Adams reduced the deficit, it was to no avail.

Beeston Hotel moved into second position with a 5-1 hammering of The Vine. Henry Buckley grabbed a hat-trick with the other strikes coming from Clacher and Roger-son. Martin Seventi grabbed the consolation for Vine.

Nantwich Town Regional comfortably saw off AFC Barkode 4-0. Tom Barnes, Dave Bower, Ben Spruce and Ashley Lawton got the goals.

Although being 2-1 down at half time to The Express, Peacock/Willaston Villa roared back in the second half to win 4-2. Hubbard (2) and singles from Heath and Newton cancelled out the strikes from Coyle and Bell.

Sydney Arms bounced back from a series of poor results to dent Audlem DK's progress through a solitary goal from Andrew Sutton.

Salvador got a second league win of the season with a convincing 5-1 victory over Fox El-worth. Rob Glover, Martin Parry, Ben Clarke and a Toby Barnes brace were the Salvador marksmen, while Anthony Evans got the solitary goal for Fox.
