Cleethorpes Town have signed winger Peter Winn, who left Chester FC at the end of last season.

Winn, who was born in Cleethorpes and lives in nearby Immingham, moved to Chester in June 2014 from Cheshire neighbours Macclesfield Town on a one-year deal.

A talented footballer with a powerful left foot, the 26-year-old was expected to have a big impact but endured a frustrating spell with the Blues.

Injuries disrupted his season and restricted him to 13 appearances over the first half of the campaign.

Winn was loaned to Kings Lynn Town in January in an attempt to get some games under his belt and he impressed in his time with the Linnets.

Steve Burr recalled the wideman in April and he featured twice more before leaving the club at the end of his contract.

Winn, who started his career with Scunthorpe United, has now dropped down to the Northern Counties East League Premier Division with Cleethorpes.

His previous clubs includes Gateshead, Stevenage, Cambridge United and Grimsby Town.
