CHESTER City welcome back experienced defender Darren Edmondson for their crucial League Two game at fellow strugglers Shrews-bury Town tomorrow.

Edmondson missed the midweek defeat at Grimsby Town through suspension, but looks certain to return to the starting line-up at Gay Meadow, with Ben Davies returning to his more familiar midfield role.

City have lost their last two matches, but more worryingly they have failed to score in seven of their last nine league outings.

Like Chester, Shrewsbury have struggled in their first season back in the Football League, and tomorrow's game is vitally important to both clubs.

"We played well at Grimsby, and if we can take that sort of form with a little more incisiveness in front of goal we should be okay," said City boss Ian Rush.

"The players have been first class of late, we just need a little luck in the final third and the goals will come."

Chester are hopeful that Michael Branch will be able to shake off his hamstring injury and make a return to the squad.

But central defender Phil Bolland is still sidelined by an ankle ligament injury.

Tomorrow's match is all ticket, and supporters without tickets are advised not to travel.
