GREG Clowes has challenged his players to keep their winning momentum going despite Saturday's postponement.

Alsager Town's scheduled game at Bacup Borough on Saturday fell victim to the weather.

Clowes admitted: 'I am disappointed because you don't want things breaking up when you are playing well.

'It is up to the lads to stay on song for this weekend's game at home to Atherton LR. It is a big one for us because they are in that little group around us and it's a chance to push on.'

Town have been boosted by the return of skilful left-midfielder Matt Gregory, who had been away coaching football in France, but Paul Macari and Murray McCulloch have been recalled by injury-hit Leek Town.

Clowes added: 'I am chuffed for the lads because they are playing well and I wouldn't stand in the way of them going back to Leek. It does leave me a little short but Mark Grice is looking good and I will be pleased to give him another run up front.'
