Luke George insists there's do danger of Chester FC underestimating Hungerford Town in tomorrow's FA Trophy second round clash.

Hungerford operate two levels below the Blues in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division but have a talented squad with Nathaniel Jarvis, Alan O'Brien and Jon Boardman boasting Football League experience.

The Blues start as favourites to progress but cannot afford to treat the Crusaders as a light touch, something George, who has taken over the captain's armband from Ian Sharps, says manager Steve Burr will not allow them to do.

"It's a potential banana skin if you like but the gaffer will have it in the lads head that you've got give Hungerford respect," said George.

"They've earned that and they're in this round for a reason so we won't be going out thinking 'we'll win this game easily' and we'll prepare and be ready to play the game as if we were playing anyone else."

Last weekend's 3-1 loss at Aldershot Town means Chester have now won one from nine in the National League.

Ex-Southport midfielder George can understand supporters' frustration but has called on them not to turn on the team.

George said: "I think we've just to stick together, be positive and keep working hard. The lads are working hard believe me and we're putting a shift in on the training ground.

"We've got to keep being positive because there are little signs but it is frustrating. We've got to keep chipping away at it and we've got a break from the league in the FA Trophy with the prize of going to Wembley, which is what everyone keeps saying.

"We'll go to win the game and hopefully give the fans something back, which they deserve."

George has missed 12 games this season with a series of frustrating injuries but has started the last eight.

"It's been disappointing and a little bit stop-start for me," said the 23-year-old.

"In the last few weeks I've still been pushing to 100% and I'm feeling better in myself but it's about that match sharpness and first couple of yards so I've been doing a lot of extra work myself to get as fit as I can as fast as I can."
