There is still time for Chester FC fans to get their tickets for Saturday's all-ticket derby against Wrexham, with about 900 sold so far.

Supporters have been able to get their hands on tickets for the game since 5pm following the Eastleigh game on September 19, and the club expect to break the 1,000 barrier by Friday’s 4pm deadline.

The Blues have about 1,200 season ticket holders who will be going to the game, while Wrexham have been allocated 1,200 tickets.

It means the crowd should exceed 3,183, which was the attendance for the corresponding fixture last season when the game was played on a Monday evening and shown live on BT Sport.

This is a 'safe transport fixture' for Wrexham fans. This means that all away supporters will be transported to the stadium via coach, from the Racecourse and various pick-up points around Flintshire, under the supervision of the two local police forces.

This approach has been enforced for recent derbies at both grounds in an effort to stamp out crowd trouble.

No tickets sold on the day

The ticket office at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium is open on Thursday and Friday, with the opening hours 10am-4pm.

East Stand tickets are being sold from the ticket office, with West Stand and Harry McNally Terrace tickets to be purchased from the club shop.

Fans will not be able to purchase tickets on the day of the match.

Season ticket holders simply need to supply the match voucher from their season ticket books.

Blues Bar to open early

Chester FC’s Blues Bar will open its doors an hour early for Saturday’s derby.

The bar will be opening at 11am, and bacon rolls will be available inside for fans looking for a pre-match snack.

To get fans in the mood, last season’s epic 2-1 triumph over the Dragons will be shown.
