Full time: Chester 2 Lincoln 5
The unbeaten run is over in the league and the result did flatter the visitors but the Imps were full value for the points. The challenge now is to make sure they don’t crumble after such a loss.
Sums up the second half
Chapell gets off a shot from 18 yards but it trickles wide. This one’s done.
Off the bar
Hughes gets to the byline and pulls it back for Richards whose first time effort crashes off the upright.
That's that
Muldoon picks up a loose ball off Hunt and breaks from his own half, playing a one-two with Rhead before firing past Lynch. Comfortable for them now.
Turned down
Lincoln bench bouncing after Muldoon hits the deck under a Lynch challenge. Looked like the Chester keeper won the ball first.
Glorious chance
Should be 4-2. Muldoon breaks and goes one on one with Lynch, blasts wide from an angle.
Ridiculous
The ref has been woeful today. Ignores a pulled shirt offence on Richards. His shirt is actually ripped. Joke.
Lost its spark
Neither side really threatening at the moment. Lincoln seem content to just shut out the Blues now. Chester struggling to find inroads.
Great save
Lloyd’s low free-kick to Shaw on the edge of the box sees the latter fire through a sea of bodies and Farman does superbly well to save.
Lloyd back well
Chapell lost the ball in his own half allowing Lincoln to break two-on-two but Lloyd back well to snuff out danger.
GOAL! Chester 2 Lincoln 3
Ball in from a free kick is punched by Lynch as far as Rhead who finishes expertly from 12 yards.
Early pressure
Sam Hughes does well on the overlap with Chapell and squares to Lloyd whose through ball deflects out to Hughes whose effort can’t find a way through the bodies.
Half time: Chester 2 Lincoln 2
The Blues pegged back just before the break as Lincoln make their physical presence at set pieces felt. Good first 45, though, and plenty to be positive about.
