Who's playing?

Chester FC v Gateshead.

When and where?

Saturday, April 30 (5.30pm) at Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

Any team news?

Ross Hannah made an appearance off the bench after shaking off a hamstring injury last weekend and could feature from the start.

But caretaker boss Jon McCarthy may opt to keep with the front two of James Alabi and Kane Richards who have impressed in recent games.

With the Blues now safe following their excellent 2-1 win at Grimsby Town last weekend, McCarthy may give some of the Blues' fringe players one last chance to impress.

What has Jon McCarthy had to say about it?

Caretaker boss McCarthy said: "We know this is a different feel and actually the importance of the game in terms of points and that level of motivation is not there for our players or Gateshead's players, that's clear.

"It's difficult in terms of motivation because we've had a really big physical and mental effort in the last two games to get the points that we so important to us.

"We've relaxed with the players because that takes a lot out of them but on Thursday we talked about going to work again and I really want this one for them. They've done everything I asked of them and everything the club asked of them in those two games and now this one is for them.

"The players tend to bring their families down to the last game and I feel like after that Grimsby performance last week, where the away support was outstanding, at home I want the players to be able to put on a performance and get a result that merits the ovation and overcome some of that frustration with the season.

"I hope it happens for them and that's what all of my focus and work has been on, getting them in the right frame of mind."

Neil Aspin's side have been inconsistent but do possess enough in their arsenal to hurt any National League side.

Striker Ryan Bowman has been their talisman this season and has 16 goals to his name while there is one familiar face for Blues fans, with ex-Chester loanee Alex Whitmore a regular at the heart of defence.
